The OHP dental benefit package includes services related to teeth and supporting structures. CareOregon Dental occasionally receives oral surgery requests for pathology not covered under the OHP dental benefit package, causing a delay in care.
Requests involving pathology other than teeth or supporting structures should, in partnership with the patient’s primary care provider, be submitted to the patient’s OHP physical health plan.

- Gingiva
- Cementum
- Alveolar bone
- Periodontal ligament

OHP Dental Benefit Package does NOT Include
(Send to physical health plan):
- Jaw fractures
- Pathology of the
- Tongue, lips, cheeks
- Floor of the mouth
- Oropharynx
- Sinuses
- Salivary glands
