PDP Summer Engagement Events
Our Primary Dental Provider (PDP) Partners have worked hard this summer to engage our priority populations, including creative outreach and hosting of unique and fun engagement events.
Multnomah County Health Department (MCHD) celebrated National Tooth Fairy Month in August. Staff provided outreach to families to let them know if their child completes a visit during the month of August, they will receive incentives such as movie tickets, gift cards and a raffle entry for a trip to Oaks Amusement Park. Children who also lost a tooth during the month of August received a dental themed book signed by the Tooth Fairy!
Clackamas Health Center (CHC) Dental set a summer goal to help reduce missed days from school and to set up their kids for success in the 2024/2025 school year. They hosted back-to-school outreach events at their Beavercreek, Gladstone, Sandy, and Sunnyside Clinics.
Utilizing CareOregon Dental Pediatric Lists and SharePoint Rosters, they were able to identify and outreach to children ages 6 -14 years old that had not been seen for preventive services in 2024. The scheduled kiddos were a mix of existing and new members. They received backpacks loaded with school supplies, or a bento lunch box with a healthy lunch recipe book. Scooters with helmets (not pictured in the photo) were raffled for ages 1-5 and 6-14 at each clinic. And of course, each kiddo received preventive care services, and many were treated for issues before they could become acute or emergent.
